Cyressa Workshop

In Kefalonia, one falls under the spell of the beauty of the landscapes, the colours of the sea and the kindness of the islanders. The Kefalonian culture includes a rich history of the reciprocal relationship between giving and receiving. In 2020, we decided to found Cyressa in order to share the beauty of Greece and to help with the reconstruction after Ionas. The Cyressa workshop is located in the wonderful village of Assos on the west coast of the island.

Arnaud Ribadeau Dumas is a French painter and student of the Czech painter Jaro Hilbert, who passed on to him a taste for the perfection of drawing, the subtlety of shadows and the science of volumes. In his pictorial and figurative work, he seeks to go beyond the image to convey the emotion of a place, a journey, a scene.

For the illustrated book, thanks to significant historical research, he endeavoured to faithfully reproduce the buildings and landscapes as they were during the war and before the earthquake that ravaged the island.

The paintings are made in Kefalonia and France in oil or acrylic on canvas and then digitized by the company Art Digital Studio in France, specialized in artistic reproduction. The images are then reproduced by Digigraphy on quality paper or canvas.
